Truth and Love

   Truth and love, love and truth, never one without the other; never truth without the warmth of love and never love without the light of truth, to pursue both at the same time is indeed a challenge.

   How often do we want to put God in a little box and tell people we know Who and what He is in short sentences? Sometimes there is a tendency to gravitate to one facet of God and ignore the rest.  God is the Judge but He is also the Comforter. He is the Truth and He is Love and Grace at the same time. He acts in judgment but also in love. He is mighty in power, yet the Prince of Peace. We will always experience an imbalance if we focus on only one aspect of God. 

   For people who come from dysfunctional homes, and nearly everyone does, there is the tendency to carry on the good gained from our parents but also the not so good. The person who is put down by judgmental parents will have the tendency to only see God as a judge and rarely, if ever, see that God is also grace. The person who never experienced discipline growing up and was over indulged will most likely see God as grace only and not realize He judges wrong doing. Such a person will have few boundaries, believing God will always forgive.  We really need to see all of who God is; we need to view Him in His totality. This article will attempt to do that with only two attributes of God; truth and love.
