Celebrating the Wonder of God’s Creation

   Our family has been learning a lot about creation, and how God designed everything to exalt and glorify Him. While we vacationed in Montana, we were able to take Joey with us to hike at Glacier National Park. The mountains are spectacular! They seem to shout the majesty of God. I just read Psalm 65:6, “The one who by His strength established the mountains, being girded with might.” The Bible verse the kids are memorizing is Romans 1:20, “For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes, His eternal power, and divine nature have been clearly seen..being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.” 

   We have also been thinking about the verse found in Luke, where the Pharisees ask Jesus to rebuke His disciples. Jesus’ response: “...I tell you, if these were silent the very rocks would cry out.” It’s amazing that God uses voiceless creation to exhibit His glory, and that humans are the only part of His creation that can speak audibly of Him. He could just as easily have chosen the trees, mountains, oceans to proclaim His Name — but He chose us. It’s a beautiful opportunity and a convicting reminder.
