Over the last 80 years, that “lesser of two evils” choice has become a commonplace where it never really had been before. As a consequence, over that 80 years each politician winning high office has become more and more capable of doing great harm to you and your children. In the case of federal office-holders, the threat extends to even non-Americans and their children, and to the world overall.
In light of these threats, prudence has compelled American voters to hold their noses and vote for folks their grandparents would have hooted off the stage, if not committed them for psychiatric evaluation, because the other sociopath seeking the office is even hairier and scarier.
