Why Should You Fear a Loving God?

   Why won’t the Church speak about the fear of God?  Beginning in the garden of Eden, the Lord warned Adam and Eve about the consequence of death if they disobeyed His command not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  The Old Testament prophets were continually warning the people of Israel about the impending judgments of the Lord if they did not forsake their sins and obey His commandments.  Each and every time the Lord executed His judgments as He said He would with plagues, floods, captivity, the sword, etc. And many of these people lost their lives and ultimately perished in hell.  Most of the prophets were hated and were murdered, not to mention Christ Himself, as well as all of His disciples, save for one who was exiled on the island of Patmos.  It was because they confronted the Church and people with their sin and the consequences of hell and God’s wrath for disobeying His law and ordinances.  You would be hard pressed to find a church today that would openly speak and warn people about hell and sin to their self-loving church attendees.
