Every now and then, I guess all of us have allowed our tempers to get the best of us, resulting in a thunderous vocalization towards someone we’ve become displeased with. Only to later come under the convicting power of the Holy Spirit like a lightning bolt straight out of Heaven striking deep within our soul, that our thunder blunder was completely out of character and oppositional to the teachings of our Lord & Master Jesus Christ…on how we’re to “Be ye kind to one another” in all regards and circumstances.
And as I said…I reckon we’ve all been guilty of this from time to time, and being deeply convicted by the Holy Spirt, have gone back to that person and tried to make it right. Attempting to apologize to them for our thunder blunder, but only to find them completely unreceptive to our sorry-ness. Leaving us with a tremendous sense of wonder as to why anyone could be so reluctant to not accept our apology and offer of reconciliation. Especially when we truly feel that they were in the wrong in the first place!
Which I guess therein lies, “the problematic wonder” for all of us no matter who’s right or wrong…our own sense of rightness, over kindness.
