Not All Vaccines Are Necessarily Evil

   Having had a couple of months to contemplate my options for this month’s article didn’t really help me to decide.  My article schedule has coincided with “National Month of…”.  August is National Month of Immunizations and National Month of Breast Feeding.  Two very rich subjects to pick from.  How do you decide between these two when the CDC has given so much to work with?

   Probably not coincidentally, I was cued in to a new documentary that has been airing over the past week by Ty and Charlene Bollinger called “Remedy.”  I have certainly had my eyes opened further by the events of the last few years, so I find this a very interesting documentary.  As new physicians, we did what we were told by our mentors because they are the ones who have been there and done that.  Textbooks and studies are supposed to have uncovered the truth about a condition and treatment through rigorous scientific study.  Sadly, that is not always the case.  Thinking for oneself happens over time as you adjust for someone’s condition that didn’t read a text book and now you need to figure out a different or creative solution to their problem.  My views on vaccines have evolved over time, not solely because I have seen vaccines fail us, but because I am doing more critical thinking and trying to respect my patients&r ...
