Now the Work Begins

     Some time ago, I listened, with anticipation, to a nationally syndicated radio program that talked about addictions on one of their daily programs. Specifically, they covered pornography and the destruction it causes to relationships. They covered quite a lot on the destructive force to the individual and to the married couple. Porn will create the inability for individuals and couples to have a close, intimate relationship. I was cheering them on. Then they concluded, for the listener, that “now the work begins.” I waited for a follow-up; I checked the program for the next day. Nothing was ever said about explaining, What work? I wrote the organization as to why would they leave a struggling listener with no direction other than to contact the counselor that was interviewed and had one office in an east coast city. What about the rest of the nation? The answer they gave me was they had to move on to other issues. Poor excuse.

   If we have struggled with an addiction or a repetitive sin and want to be free of it, there is definitely work that needs to be done. I have written quite a lot on this subject and will continue to do so.
